After the speech, the deserving recipients of the Distinguished Service Awards and
Uniformed Youth Organisation Gold Awards were given the honour of having their
parents pin the special commemorative SG50 badge on their uniforms - a first for its
recipients. It was then followed by the Sword-of-Honour ceremony.
